The Sneak-it-in-late Friday News
Today being the anniversary of the Patriot Act (the day I mourn as the beginning of the death of American democracy), the House decided to pass a bill covering many of the reforms the 9-11 Commission recommended.
Except for two things.
They watered down the reforms. Then they tacked on new police powers that had previously been planned for Patriot Act 2. The monster they created was so bad even some Republicans are saying they can’t support it. I wish they’d just declare martial law, lock up everyone with an IQ above 86 and get it over with. I hate the waiting while they pretend they’re not tyrants.

The only way they can pretend that Chimpy was elected is to let folks with a known aversion to him go to the polls once more. Then they can try to round them up.

wouldn’t France be a nicer country for all of us lefties? Intellectual thought is not despised, the government is more or less responsive to the people, and the cheese selection is really good.
