Tsunami Blogs you can rely on, Pt. 5

Some more pictures of the tsunami, from Thailand. Amazing ones. (Found via Boing Boing)

Many will speak of Sandra Bullock today, after her $1 million donation for tsunami relief. She provided a similar donation after the 9-11 atacks.

I’ll let you know when George 41, George43, Jeb, or Neil tosses in five bucks of their own multimillions from the windfall oil profits they keep causing themselves. I don’t know if God ordains Presidents, but our country got a gift when He gave us Ms. Bullock. And DiCaprio and Hung, too.

Richard Silverstein sheds light on pre-tsunami Banda Aceh, and encourages donations to an org that’s been doing the heavy lifting there well before the current disaster. I sure hope we aren’t rebuilding a place of continued oppression by the Indonesian government.

It sure doesn’t seem wise to build a nuclear plant so close to a critical tectonic plate juncture. It could add enormous losses to an already staggering disaster. Or maybe…. it ’s already too late? Her blog, btw, is a daily must-read.

Firsthand survivor tales (and photos) from Thailand.

Give what you can.

Do you remember seeing the 2004 candidates’ tax return info ? Do you remember how much greater GWB’s was as compared to JfK’s ?

    Tsunami photos

Startling pictures of the tsunami. These point out how little people understood what was going on; look at the number of spectators. That’s not to say I’d have understood it either. Found at American Street….

I have the latest updates from the Thai beaches in Phuket and Krabi as of yesterday. Trying to pump as much information from my network as possible.

thanks so much for the link to my blog.

The media have fed us the most superficial factoids about this disaster. Tomorrow, I hope to have up an mp3 download of the music of Aceh so people can see that Sumatra is a place with a vibrant culture that deserves preserving and being better known to the world.

I’m also searching for music from Sri Lanka & south India to feature the cultures of these disaster affected areas as well.

this is great resource information. I encourage everyone that can to check out what we are doing as well to aid in the tsunami crisis. We are trying to bring over temporary housing. The effort is going great. Any assistance is greatly
