Bill Keller Brings Word of Judith’s Brave Struggle
l Bill Keller is worried that is star mole reporter, Judy Miller, isn’t eating enough in prison: “The food has not agreed with her and we have been trying to impress on her that she needs to eat. We have been hammering that in.”
Touching. From the Puerto Rico Herald:
A Puerto Rican soldier died in an accident
Thursday in Iraq, just hours before another Puerto Rican reserve
soldier killed in a convoy attack there was buried on this Caribbean
island.…
Serrano will be buried in Puerto Rico, but it’s uncertain when his remains will arrive.
"Everybody
was his friend, and he never had problems with anyone," his brother,
Juan Carlos Serrano, told WLII, choking back tears."On
the contrary, he always helped people and expected nothing in return.
We were always together, and he was a good brother, and I hope God has
him up there with him right now."
Keller tells E&P that Miller is cautious about doing interviews because that could “antagonize the judge” and that “they still control her life.”

Keller tells us that she is only able to watch the shows she likes when the more popular shows on the cell block, hip-hop and rap music videos aren’t on.

Keller assures us that others from the paper have signed up to visit the brave Judy and that she has been making calls out of the prison regularly.
Keller has been doing his best to let Miller know what’s going on at the paper. He says that she gets along well with the other women in the cell block and that they know what she’s in for.

Keller hopes Fitzgerald’s investigation will wrap early up so Miller can get out soon.

Rot well, Judy. You’ve earned it.

Poor Judy. It breaks my heart. Oh, how she suffers so.

Powerful juxtaposition, eRobin. Well done.
We well-heeled but street savvy white folk instantly recognize Bill Keller’s nuanced way of saying THERE ARE DANGEROUS NEGROES IN THERE! And not a Hardball fan in sight, poor dear.
Judy bangin’ wit da OGs now. Yeah.
Pity it ain’t Christmas.

Someone should send some pictures to hang on the cell wall, might cheer her up.

Arvin - You’d think that he would think before he speaks in an interview given his chosen career and all. I go back and forth between thinking it was a Freudian slip and a not-so-subtle message for help for his beseiged employee. But even if he didn’t mean to send a message - what the hell do we care about her television habits for anyway? These people either do not get that she is has blood on her hands or they want us to forget the fact. I’m not going to forget.
More generally on Keller - he is absolutely tone-deaf to half the things that spill out of his mouth. But I am surprised he didn’t wedge in a message of prayer for dear Judy since he’s now constantly on the look-out for ways to reach out to the underserved rural Christian readership.

I wrote an email to the bitch yesterday. You can too. she has a blog. judithmiller.org or something that you can use to send her this.
I told her she deserves the death penalty. I expect the smear of my wife to begin any day now.

Brilliant piece. May Judy rot….if only from the food she eats! I hope they send her to a real prison sometime soon!

eRobin, tone deafness is an absolute pre-requisite for the elite, a willful handicap used to keep the ugly realities of responsibility and complicity under the priceless Persian rug where they belong. I think of Keller’s obliviousness as an unremarkable trait which he shares with the rest of the Great American Oligarchy, from King Bush to Joe Biden to the corporate jackoffs many of us work for. Not to mention a substantial contingent of NYT reporters and op-ed writers. For these class war victors, the blood of American troops and Iraqi citizens is a commodity on par with A-1 Steak Sauce.
You’re killin’ me, merl.
But rest easy. It probably only resulted in another demerit in your FBI dossier.
