Pull Out

General William Odom slaps the Democrats upside their heads and explains why setting a timetable for withdrawl and pulling out of Iraq makes MILITARY and STRATEGIC sense.

Something I advised a while ago.

Now I have confirmation that I am not out there on the fringes in terms of it’s military value.

Are you listening Hillary and Joe Biden?

Incidentally, Hillary, I know Bill’s a political genius an all. But he’s not 100% foolproof. You are better served following your own intuition on the Iraq war than his political advice right now.

He’s wrong.

Nice strategic thinking from a competent Internationalist. It’s a shame that, if this gets a lot of exposure in the Whore Media, we’re going to learn that he’s a serial murderer, or a pedophile, or a secrret chicken fetishist who sacrifices chickens to the full moon in a cemetary or something.

Thanks for the link, Hesiod. (Great to see you blogging again, btw). Echo Lurches’ sentiments above. Odom makes some points that would make some of his fellow travelers from the Reagan Years who are now in the 1600 Crew uncomfortable at best if they read them. But then truth, accuracy and fairness all died the day after irony in December 2000 anyhow.

  3. AbbieX Says:

Regarding the comments about how pulling out would make the deaths of 1800+ Americans meaningless, I’m curious to know what circumstances would make those deaths meaningful?? Face it, 55,000 deaths in Vietnam were meaningless, not because we didn’t support the troops, it was the war. All deaths in these types of wars are meaningless. When a country defends itself against agression, like Poland, France, Britain, Russia, the US and others did against Tojo, Hitler, and Mussolini it’s one thing. Have you ever heard anyone say anything negative about the men and women who died fighting that brand of world tyranny? Nope…well maybe in revisionist history in selected countries. But Vietnam was about a deal gone bad, plain and simple, and in the end, Ho’s boys won, maybe not militarily, but they won…evidenced by the form of government they live under. In the end, the Sunnis, Shiites, Kurds, Iranians, Iraqi Christians, Muslims, insurgents, terrorists around the world will “win”. Why? Because, this occupation has a foundation of lies, deceits, and more lies. It was never about WMDs…it was never about a threat to us, it was never about democracy, it was never about the Iraqi people. It is about oil, and profits, and money, and when the pigs in the whitehouse and in congress have had their fill (if that’s possible) we will leave…or maybe not. We’ve never left the Phillipines or Cuba. We’ve never left Japan or Germany. We’ve never left Korea. And in fact, there is a US military presence in 100+ countries around the world! And we’re “negotiating” with more countries every day to plant troops on their soil. Should we pull out….yeah, of every country we have a base in, will we pull out, I doubt it????? How can we do anything at this point that will make the lives lost on all sides of this bloody circus meaningful? Well, we’ve been paying for Vietnam for the last 30+ years, I don’t think this will be any different. The world will not forget.

Rather than say the death of 55,000 soldiers in Vietnam was “meaningless,” we should point out that the so-called “careers” of the politicians who sent them there were meaningless.

Why would anyone care what Hillary thinks? Her so-called “career” was, is, and will always be meaningless. And I think this to be something the U.S. people ought to be keenly aware of right now.
