Memo to a President Who Deserves Impeachment

I don’t care if your agenda is viable. I don’t cotton to your staged and expensive photo ops.

Accountability and responsibility are measures of leadership lacking in your administration. FEMA is not an election tool reserved for the pleasure of Florida voters.

Isn’t it enough that your Middle East initiatives are rooted in securing oil supplies that continues to cost us our sons and daughters? Why do you continue to ignore the warnings of experts, at a huge cost to our environment, and to our economy, and while ignoring the security of our oil supplies here?

I care mostly about those who did not need to die. You got the Navy to Indonesia after an unexpected tsunami in 5 days, and took the same time to get Navy ships to an anticipated disaster in our leading seaport. I saw you strumming a guitar Tuesday, and joking for reporters Friday. Thousands died, most were preventable and you and state officials share responsibility for benign neglect. And poor planning, (which has become the legacy of your administration at home and abroad.)

30% or more of the gas stations east of the Rockies may run out of gas. That, too, will do wonders for our economy. That’s your fault, too.

Ignoring terrorism reports and raiding FEMA funds while putting unqualified political allies in leadership roles has cost us the victims of 9-11, and the mounting deaths in our Gulf states. Your poorly thought out war on Iraq has added thousands of fatalities and tens of thousands of seriously wounded troops to that toll. More Americans have died because of your mistakes than any man has caused in more than 30 years.

You fight to keep the videos of the worst Abu Ghraib atrocities from going public, denying that any higher-ups played a role in the torture, rapes and murders committed in America’s name.

And it’s clear you really don’t care, that your political viability counts more to you than the dead and dying in New Orleans.

You are a disaster, a disgrace and a craven political nitwit who can only display grief for a camera, but you do not possess any in your heart. You are deadly, intentionally and unintentionally and we can’t afford the cost of you.

I hope New York shows up in one week with signs saying “Never Forget New Orleans.” And that your impeachment occurs before next summer. You deserve far worse, but I am a civil man. If you had any sense of honor, you would simply resign.

George “Malignant Neglect” Bush, please go away. And before you do, you should nominate a black judge from one of Louisiana’s poorest parishes to replace the late Judge Rehnquist. Anything less is less than just. But what have you ever known about justice? You are a miserable, rotten man and the American moral majority is onto you now.

You cannot run, you cannot hide. Quit or be fired is the only choice remaining for you to decide.
