What today’s news headlines ought to say
JERUSALEM, Feb. 13 — The United States and Israel are discussing ways to destabilize the Palestinian government so that newly elected Hamas officials will fail and elections will be called again, according to Israeli officials and Western diplomats.
The intention is to starve the Palestinian Authority of money and international connections to the point where, some months from now, its president, Mahmoud Abbas, is compelled to call a new election. The hope is that Palestinians will be so unhappy with life under Hamas that they will return to office a reformed and chastened Fatah movement.
Remember, it was Bush who refused to recognize and negotiate with Yasser Arafat. So the natural result has occurred and bBush refuses that as well.
In Bushworld, democracy means the majority rules if they agree with Bush. And we need only look at the Palestine election to see how well Bush stops terrorism. He makes terrorists more popular in every country he touches with his foreign policies.
I swear, if there were a Special Olympics for Foreign Policies, Bush would win all the gold medals. And then he’d kick the silver medalists in their groins, while Pat Robertson of Gawd, Inc. cheers him on.
