Advanced Marketing: Getting Christians to Boycott “The DaVinci Code”
Advertisers and marketers are becoming more and more subtle in their marketing plans and techniques. And one of the hottest trends has been in the form of Christian Boycotts, which are being used to promote the soon-to-be-released “The DaVinci Code”, starring “Big”s Tom Hanks.
“It’s great to have such a pliable corral of extras who are willing to march in front of movie theatres, attracting free media, most of their enemies and half of their friends”, Jungen Rubicon, an advertising accounts representative, says. “And they work for free!”
The Christians did some exemplary marketing with “The Exorcist”, making it one of the most watched movies of all time, and it is expected that “The DaVinci Code” will exceed even that.
