Edwards in 2008
Jackie Calmes surprises by providing a well-balanced overview of John Edwards’ campaign in the unlikely locale of the Wall Street Journal.
I’ll just add that the housing downturn of last year’s likely to continue in 2007. Gasoline prices should spike again, especially due to the Bush initiatives directed at Iraq and Iran. Alternative biofuels production will add to price elevation of several agricutural crops like corn, provoking inflation in our grocery aisles. And international flight from the US dollar will continue, as well.
All these fctors point to a recession beginning in the second half of 2007. Which points to more reasons the Edwards candidacy will prove more resonant than some now believe.
I’m sticking my neck out early: I support Edwards. I won’t be blind to the potential others may offer and I’ll try to present fair, objective analyses of their chances.
I remain, after all, skeptical of any politician who’s made serious errors, such as early support of the Iraq War. But I’ve seen a very few grow wisdom from error. If Edwards demonstrates that, my support will not flinch.

Last night, I was one of about 20 online participants who got to hear Senator Edwards, by teleconference offer a brief overview of what was to come this morning. This is going to be great, grassroots, ground-up. He believes in the power of the People.
Elizabeth Edwards paid me an oline visit yesterday. (see comments)

…which is to say the degrees of separation are few indeed, and White House work might not be a pipe dream. I should think we would all make excellent consultants and advisors.

I like him too–he’s not perfect and he’s not liberal enough for me, but i’ll take him with hope and a smile. He’s the only one talking class and poverty, so if nothing else will change the conversation I hope. (and i love Elizabeth–i’d vote for her in a heartbeat)
He was my next choice after Dean dropped out in 04, but he himself dropped out before my NY primary.

Edwards is a good choice, a decent man, and I believe he is capable, and can help heal the wounds of war and get us out of Iraq.

Indeed, wisdom grows from error. Often it is a wisdom of trust; who to trust, who not to trust. America once saw a young President grow wisdom that way. The Bay of Pigs error led that President to make wiser choices when next he was told there was no other option but to attack.

Congratulations on your insight! I was a constituent of Senator Edwards when he was in Congress and the man never disappointed me. I was so tired of elected officials who told me one thing and did another. I can tell you I stuck to his website like glue and stayed right on top of what he was doing on my behalf. Fianlly, I wrote him a thank you letter one day for representing my interest the way I wanted them represented and keeping his word to me. I can assure you that John Edwards is a man of integrity who keeps his word. He’ll make us all proud to be Americans again!

“Alternative biofuels production will add to price elevation of several agricutural crops like corn, provoking inflation in our grocery aisles.”
Biofuels may do significantly more than that. Further reading on Biofuels can be found here, for those that are inclined.

I’ve been a proud Edwards supporter since 2003 because of his inspiring messages of We. I just hope the rest of the country gets it this time
