A tremendously successful writer of extreme over-the-top hard boiled detective novels, who occasionally dabbled in science fictional elements (badly).

(Found at It’s My Country, Too. I certainly don’t mind being likened to the ruthless commie-hater of “One Lonely Night”, but I never considered him an SF writer at all. Perhaps this quiz was done by someone with a *ugh* liberal definition of “science fictional elements”. Yes, there was the child genius in “The Twisted Thing”, and the (irrelevant to the plot) anti-gravity invention in “The Erection Set”, but real SF? Maybe they were thinking of the glowing McGuffin in the classic noir 1955 movie version of “Kiss Me Deadly.”)
