I remember Jim, who’s dead now
Back before the Big Bang of the political blogosphere, there was Jim Capozzola of Rittenhouse Review. He always struck me as a gentleman. His writing exuded a cultural and literary mastery I’ve seen in few other bloggers since. Though he wrestled with illness often, he considered running for the Senate because Pennsylvania needed better. I had mini campaign banners on the blog, urging him on. He wouldn’t have stood a chance but he would have made the campaign one of the most memorable ever.
I got word in the wee hours this morning that he was on death’s door He didn’t want folks to know until he was gone. That was Jim. Don’t fuss with him in his waning hours. He now has peace.
In addition to skippy’s post just below, his good friend, journalist Susie Madrak, can explain him a bit more. It seems so odd that such young pioneers as Jim and Steve Gilliard are suddenly missing. To many who only discovered the blogosphere in the past 2 to 3 years, it would be hard to explain the big ol’ holes in this medium that mark where these good men once thrived.
Jim could force a smart person to Google, to keep up with him. I extend my condolences to all who loved and enjoyed him. Death will have its hands full now, trying to contain him.

Jim and Steve were both friends and mentors. The hole in my life that has opened in the last month is huge.
