Porno Novel offers nothing new
And let’s stop kidding ourselves. When Eisenhower warned of the military industrial complex, even he was lying about the third leg of the triumvirate, the intelligence community. Bush, Zapata, Bay of Pigs, Vietnam, Iran Contra, Kuwait, Iraq, the names keep popping up over and over again: Bush, Poindexter, Kissinger, Abrams, Goss. It’s the longest soap opera in history and the plot’s too predictable for any regular watcher.
To the country, the lessons of Watergate were: we need openness in government, oversight of government and a government that doesn’t spy on anyone illegally. And thank God for the investigative media that exposed the root rot.
To the insiders, the lessons of Watergate were: we need more secrecy, better methods to deny the truth to avoid incarceration and by God, control of the media.
Every abuse of power scandal since has demonstrated that the insiders are winning. And we’re not.
They own most of the media. Fux News and the unWell Street Journal; for example #1.
They also learned to never back down, never admit they’re even having sex when we catch them with their dicks up somebody’s bum. “I was taking ‘er temprature, I was.” And never to resign until they’re indicted.
And Congress? They go through the motions. They’re just Republican Lite 2.
Consumer Confidence is soaring, so they feel invulnerable.
Next week they go on vacation. And while they’re gone, everyone will be surprised by Bish’s next move.
It’ll be more than Iraq torn apart. The day Congress leaves, spend your milk money on an energy stock. Always bet on greed at the bottom of fear and division.
It’s always about oil squirting in the face of democracy. And it’s getting too damn near to necrophilia.

Getting damn near? Honey, it’s the biggest game in town, turning profits on the bodies of dead young men.
The whole thing reminds me of a story I read in the seventies (funny enough, can’t remember author or title; it was in Asimov’s or something) about an arms dealer who discovers that the lake near his property, guarded by a mated pair of black swans, is all that stands between the world and Ragnarok. At the end of the story he orders the swans killed and the lake drained because he figures that he would make so much more money if the world were immersed in perpetual war.
Somebody somewhere is draining a lake….
