GOP: naughty, naughty, you hurt his feelings!

Americans see nothing of use to our continued military adventurism in Iraq. They want our troops out, for wiser use elsewhere.

They want to know why Bin Laden and Zawahiri remain free six years after the 9/11 attacks. They don’t feel the president is protecting Americans properly.

So the GOP musters all its strength and courage and responds…. by protecting a general from some name-calling. That’s right, we mustn’t hurt the poor general’s tender feelings.

Lives hang in the balance and the GOP’s leaders play political games instead of, you know, doing something about ANYTHING that matters.

The economy. Wages that aren’t keeping pace with inflation. An endless war that has no benefits to our country. Outsourced jobs. Unaffordable health care. Subprime mortgages. Global warming.

Nope, they protect a general from criticism because his skin’s so soft. And they don’t even require him to testify under oath, which has always been the standard way to secure the truth.

So the General gets away with a selective report that missed many important points.

Politics used to be about bread and circuses. Now they let the bread mold and outsource most of the circus, leaving only one ring for the performances of surly, untalented clowns.
