Attacking the war wounded: the new conservative sport

At Sadly No!, Jillian reports on the fresh attack on our war wounded by a New Hampshire conservative, who believes a shell-shocked veteran spiralling downhill is actively choosing his pain and incapacitating madness.

And what does this Raven gal have to say for herself?

To be clear, I have written many posts here about the true brain injuries and the havoc they create on the lives of those involved. I have professional work experience as well- and I think I’m in a good position to speak on Troy’s “issues”. I do have empathy, but it only goes so far when I really believe the hearts and minds of loved ones are being taken advantage of. SO all you Sadly No suckers readers, don’t question my compassion. I have far more than most of you will ever begin to understand or know.

Her profile reveals the rest:

I live in New Hampshire and love it here. Four seasons of weather; mountains up north and beaches to the east- and cities and small towns make NH a great place. I have three daughters, two BIG dogs, four cats and a pet frog. I am happily single (divorced) and have no interest in changing that.

I work in nursing. I’m also an EMT.

My hobbies and favorites:
Being with my family
Being with my friends
(YES…I consider spending time w/family and friends to be a HOBBY in this day and age!)
Drinking beeah!
Coffee!!
Roller blading
Hiking
Snowmobiling
Concerts!
Reading (good books)
I love Pink Floyd. Ever so much.
I love sitting outside during rain and thunderstorms.
Cooler weather and winters!
I love the ocean. And it’s beaches. (especially in the winter)

I HATE
Liars
Lazy people
Wealthy people
Sex offenders and pedophiles
People with big egos- esp. men with egos
People who whine, moan, groan, complain, fuss, cry and carry on like spoiled brats.

I am not a politically correct person at all. I speak my mind and I could care less who I offend when doing so. I call a spade for a spade when needed. I also swear a whole lot - get ever it. I have survived heroin addiction and the life that supported it. Don’t mess with me.

So a recovering heroin addict who still drinks beer and has an attitude now considers herself an expert on PTSD and considers herself more compassionate than me or thee. And has the temerity to also refer to that as ‘empathy’ as if sticking a needle in your arm is akin to serving your country in battle.

Hmmm, a beer drinking former drug user touting compassion? Sounds like the Religious Right has found a Bush clone they can back for president in 2008.

And Raven, I mourn for your daughters. They have some serious evil to overcome to get free of your influence in the years ahead.
