I owe Pete Stark a great big Thank You!
I remember the scenario from childhood. The bully threatens and taunts some kid, just because he thinks he’s more powerful. The kid backs away, thinking “What a stupid moron.”
The bully, thinking he’s successfully intimidated the kid, continues it the next day. The kid talks it over with his friends and they agree, jointly, that the bully’s got some serious issues. They pity the poor lout.
The abuse continues, every day, week after week. By now, the bully’s so delusional in his moment of power madness that he decides to take it to a new level. He shoves the kid’s friend or makes a leering remark to the kid’s girlfriend, or insults his family.
Now the kid’s protective instincts override the sense that he no longer resists sinking to the bully’s level. He goes to the electric can opener and opens him some Serious, Inc. Whoopass™ and the fight is on.
“You fucking Limpdick Asshole, don’t you ever threaten anyone ever again! You think you can run around stealing from kids’ lunches, putting your filthy hands on them and make their lives miserable. You creep! You’re nothing but a slimy asslicking shithead!”
And the bully says: “Look everybody! The kid’s gone mental!”
The next thing he knows, the bully’s got a bloody nose and he’s running home crying to his Mommy. And she hates it when he interrupts her business, turning tricks with all the guys at the Moose Lodge, including the flea-infested moose.
I owe Pete Stark a thankyewverymuch. He’s not mental. He’s just mad as hell, for every good reason.
He knows the bully’s a serial murderer who can’t even fight his own fights, a guy who’d turn his back on hurricane victims, relent when forced to, promise to fix things then rig it so all his bully friends can fleece the victims and profit from their misery. He knows he’s a coward, a chump, a lowlife who kicks puppies for fun.
Go ahead, keep pushing the kids, tens of millions of kids.
But you better call your Mama first, dickhead, to make sure her schedule’s open to change your pissy pants.
This is the level you think adults should be at when lives are being ruined and lost. You call your power plays ‘wins’ and nothing else matters.
We had you pegged from the beginning: you’re a total moron. And if you’re too dumb to handle an adult debate and - like a mule - you need a 2 by 4 against your thick skull before you’ll pay attention, then quit your sissy whining when your wussy ears get bruised. There’s a palletload of 2 by 4s handy if you’re still too dumb to get what’s happening.
63% of the House and more in the Senate said 4 million kids should have healthcare. And the fact that you won the point means nada since 2/3rds of the country got their demands rejected again.
If you call that winning, in 13 months you better brace yourself for the 2 by 4 that’s coming.
I think Pete Stark displayed great restraint by not kicking you in your withered ball sacs. So STFU or go cry on the shoulders of your neo-ninny friends.
Yeah, we’ve seen this scenario a thousand times and you still can’t come up with anything new. So chew on this for a second: bullies always get their due. We’re Americans. If you can’t get it, it sure must suck to be you.
The scathing comments drew immediate condemnation from Republicans, who demanded he retract it. “Congressman Stark’s statement dishonors not only the commander in chief, but the thousands of courageous men and women of America’s armed forces who believe in their mission and are putting their lives on the line for our freedom and security,'’ said House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio.
When asked if he would take back any of his statements, Stark told KCBS “Absolutely not. I may have dishonored the commander in chief, but I think he’s done pretty well to dishonor himself without any help from me.”
He added the real dishonor is that Republicans refuse to expand the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. “The fact is that I do support the troops in Iraq. They’re there fighting to protect our children here,” said Stark. “I think (Republicans) owe the troops in Iraq an apology for not protecting the children that those troops left behind.”

Or like when a man gives his wife a black eye. How come nobody takes into account how angry she made him?

Now it seems Pelosi and Stoyer are joining the Republick’s outrage fest (http://www.openleft.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=1987)
How did we end up with such leadership? Madame can be reached here AmericanVoices@ mail.house.gov, if anyone wants to let her know how popular this makes her.
