It’s worth praise when Neocons return to sanity
Nicole Belle points out that Valerie Plame’s outer has left the rarefied atmosphere of the Neo-Nutball orbit and is starting to sound like Howard Dean.
Is there hope for neocon rehabilitation? Armitage’s long history of underhanded geopolitics provides reason for tremendous skepticism. Is he seeking to deal to avoid a war crimes trial someday? I doubt it.
All I know is that in this one instance, he’s providing some refreshing candor: we have met the enemy and he is more usa than al-them.

Richard Armitage has never been a neocon.
You don’t seem to know what you are talking about.

I think Armitage’s record is clear with a lead signature on the PNAC letter to President Clinton. As well, his sordid past goes back to his work as an Iran-Contra player.
It’s only been in the last 16 months that he started presenting himself as an opponent of Bush’s policies. The rehabbing of Colin Powell’s image has gone on much longer, of course, but both enabled the Iraq War and Armitage is clearly recognized for his neocon past.
