Ugly national polling numbers for Republicans

None of the GOP candidates can muster more than 20% support within their own party now, per Rasmussen. John Edwards does 20% in a larger party, by total registration which means all three Dem frontrunners are outpolling the Republicans.

Oddly, Rasmussen suggests a McCain win in NH would give them a clear frontrunner, apparently claiming the Iowa results are meaningless.

It’s an odd position for a pollster to take.

And what will Republicans do? Resort to their time-tested formula of keeping folks from voting.

The GOP is going to have a hard enough time convincing its own voters to turn out this time around.
