Ron Paul: will he beat Rudy?

James Kirchick thinks he’s a bigot. And the Net’s leading student and teacher of the politics of hate quotes Kirchick extensively, with links to his previous conclusions.

Paul’s campaign issued a tepid denial.

It’s pretty telling that even the folks at LGF and Michael Totten repudiate him today. Andy Sullivan? He thinks less of him and wants more explanations.

Lew Rockwell wants him to get in the last word, too, and Reason magazine provided that platform.

So Libertarians continue to try and believe in their deeply flawed champion. Which continues to display the willful blindness of those immature schmucks.

Most important is how Republican voters perceive him. Sure, he’ll never be President. But if he outpolls Rudy Giuliani in New Hampshire today, what does this say about one of the bases the GOP depends on?

Of course, conservative Libertarians aren’t the only racists under that sick political tent. But at the moment, they’re the most visible and if they want to push a racist xenophobe to the fore, then they deserve the disgust they’ll get. And yeah, the denial remains pretty thick.

Ish, Ron Paul. A portion of his message is appealing to the adolescent in me who says fuck it! I don’t need rules and structure! I can go it alone. But the adult in my says, hey we’re in this together, for better or worse, and there’s a price to pay for being part of a society. No man or woman is an island.
