Considering the way the supposed-to-be neutral Pentagon interjects itself into presidential politics in the past two decades, it has become a propaganda machine beyond the scope of its responsibilities, a danger within any democracy.

I agree with Josh Marshall that we have to expect more of this and with reserve military officer Phil Carter that our troops aren’t even getting the support they deserve from their military and Defense Department superiors.

So I dedicate this to every military member in a combat zone anywhere in the world today, as well as those
who’ve been there, ever. The song is Support The Troops and the Musician is Country Joe McDonald.
