Perhaps the worst abuse we Christians in America suffer is watching our Faith exploited to obscene political ends by people whose only real interest in it is obtaining power for themselves. Liberals have been actively seeking to hijack the central tenets of Christianity into a message of compassion for the sick and poor, even though leading apologetics agree that they probably deserve it. The latest grotesque distortion of Scripture comes from Barack Hussein Obama, who’s trying to spin his support for gay harems as an extension of his purported “Christian” “faith”:

Barack Obama defended same-sex civil unions Sunday by referring Christians against the practice to look at Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, which he contends supports gay civil unions

“I believe in civil unions that allow a same-sex couple to visit each other in a hospital or transfer property to each other,” Obama said, referring to unions that provide all the legal benefits of marriage but the title, according to Christian Broadcasting Network. “I don’t think it should be called marriage, but I think that it is a legal right that they should have that is recognized by the state.

“If people find that controversial, then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount, which I think is, in my mind, for my faith, more central than an obscure passage in Romans,” the Democratic presidential candidate contends. “That’s my view. But we can have a respectful disagreement on that.”

Media agencies speculate that Obama was referring to Matthew 7:12: “So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”

I was unaware that the Koran included the Sermon on the Mount, but Mr. Obama was clearly daydreaming about becoming president again the day the imams covered this one at his madrassa. He’s betraying the 9/10 mindset so typical of The Left, whereas a post 9/11 reading of the Sermon would state “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, unless they are illegal immigrants, homosexuals, or suspected terrorists, at which point you should knock their teeth in” — just ask John Yoo. Until liberals are ready to embrace the true meaning of the Gospels rather than trying to warp it into some homosexualist pipe dream, I would prefer if they kept their lurid theologizing in the pornographic chatrooms where it belongs. Praise Him!
