Another strange aspect of Clinton’s Bosnia sniper story
Bloggers and the MSM have jumped on the lie about ducking from sniper fire. None so far have touched on another aspect of that story.
Hillary’s quote began:
“I certainly do remember that trip to Bosnia, and as Togo said, there was a saying around the White House that if a place was too small, too poor, or too dangerous, the president couldn’t go, so send the First Lady. That’s where we went.”
So whose ’saying’ was that? Was that Bill Clinton’s policy? Clinton’s staff?
It sounds pretty sad to have a policy like that. It’s too scary for the Prez so send the First Spouse. I feel pretty sympathetic to Hillary on that point because it sounds like they deliberately risked her life in danger zones while the Big Dawg could stay safe and sound. I mean, as incompetent as our current administration is, several, including Bush, have dropped into Iraq and Afghanistan and I can’t think of a single time they sent Laura in.
I hate to say it but it reinforces negative stereotypes many military folks held about President Clinton. Only the source was not the VRWC but Hillary. So either that’s another ‘mispoken moment or Hillary’s revealing something pretty startling about her husband or his staff.
I wonder if the MSM will ask about this because it sure sounds rather pathetic on the part of everyone but Hillary.
