The Candidate that won’t quit

While Hillary Clinton plays ‘Rocky’ music, touting her ability to get up after getting knocked down, the efforts of Barack Obama display a pretty impressive record in the ring that surpasses what Clinton has done. Every analyst in politics, the media and the blogosphere consider Pennsylvania to be solid Clinton country, claiming the only real question is how big her margin will be. And Team Obama claims getting it down to a loss of less tha 10% will qualify as a victory by denying her the blowout she needs to play delegate catch-up.

Yet the more I watch, the more convinced I am that Obama’s aiming hire, refusing to concede even that. He wants the win, wants to close the deal, and if he pulls off the seemingly impossible with a PA win, he’ll settle the race once and for all. He’s changed his modus operandi to make inroads.

He’s countered key endorsements with bulk endorsements.

He’s boosted his national security cred with another top national security guy endorsing him, which should help in Indiana if not in Pennsylvania.

He’s made it clear he won’t concede a single remaining contest to Clinton, compelling her to run just as hard to hold him off. Rocky always came out pretty bruised and bloodied, and in at least one of the movies, Rocky lost.
