Will the court of public opinion treat The Principals to an exclusionary future?

So far, that’s how it seems for Alberto. Unlike others who’ve parlayed their loyal footsoldier roles into longterm financial gain - think Ollie North, Pat Buchanan, etc - Alberto’s finding the job hunt unrewarding. Which may indicate something transformational’s underway.

For one thing, his role as loyal consigliere can now be seen as a one-way street. Bush either hasn’t tried or has been effective at helping his friend get a decent job. Is Bush capable of loyalty?

For another, maybe Republicans now recognize that Team Bush has not just damaged the country (which they typically have justified away in the past), but has made the Republican brand so toxic that they have a multi-year task ahead making the country safe for rich powerful arrogant crony bastards.

Ifthat’s truly their thinking, we may see other Bushlickers shunned by the corporate plunder complex. It would be nice to see karma validated that way. But I ultimately expect it’ll be a short term phenomena. After all, it’s possible Alberto’s facing nothing more than garden variety Republican racism.
