Chicken George sells fear again to any coward buying

This is the sick joke of our stumbling idiot of a president and his left hand toady, John McCain.

Let’s review the reality of the snake-oil peddlers of this pap:

1) I’ll set aside the claims made about George’s grandfather and focus on the past 30 years of the rising Middle East terrorism. Ronald Reagan sold missiles to a terror-supporting Iranian government. His vice-president, George HW Bush, was actively involved but evaded prosecution and ultimately pardoned all the other people involved. Many of that group would ultimately gain appointments from our current president.

2) That group used those funds, plus illegal drug sale funds, to finance the Contras, a South American terror group, the Contras. In direct violation of Congressional legislation prohibiting funds to that group. Again these people were appointed to prominent government positions by our current president.

3) After the 9-11 attacks, our current president went after AlQaeda in Afghanistan but made tactical errors, allowing Al Qaeda’s leadership to escape to Pakistan. He ultimately diverted our military effort to Iraq, for reasons that have since proven false. In fact, what he called intelligence ‘flaws’ was actually the intelligence of himself, Cheney and Rumsfeld in refusing to accept multiple intelligence efforts that debunked every source of the flawed intelligence providers as untrustworthy, and unsupported by any evidence. Resigned White House officials claimed the plot to attack Iraq was begun at the beginning of the Bush administration, 8 months BEFORE the 9-11 attacks.

4) The family of Al Qaida’s leader was given safe passage out of the US immediately after 9-11. So were members of the Saudi royal family, even though some of that family were implicated as funders of Al Qaida. By making Iraq the Middle East front against terrorists, numerous terrorists were drawn into the Iraq conflict, complicating the fight there. Ultimately, Bush would say he didn’t spend time thinking about Osama Bin Laden’s continued freedom and wasn’t that concerned about him.

Terrorism increased throughout the Middle East, Europe and Asia throughout our war in Iraq.

5) When the real proliferator of nuclear arms to US enemies was found to be AQ Khan, Bush appeased the military dictator leading Pakistan who merely placed the rogue scientist under house arrest.

6) When Moammar Gaddafi decided to forgo further development of nukes, Bush lauded him and used him as an example of the results he’d gained fighting terrorism, even though Gaddafi had supported the terror effort that cost hundreds of American lives in the downing of a passenger airliner over Lockerbie, Scotland. Gaddafi escaped any personal punishment for those deaths.

7) The First President Bush also permitted another airliner-hijacking terrorist to move into Florida.

8) John McCain has been one of the current president’s strongest supporters of his foreign policy and the war on Iraq. Only in the past month has he begun trying to distance himself from Bush’s policies, solely because of the American voters’ rejection of Bush’s failed approaches. Yet the two harp on Democrats for ‘negotiating’ with terrorists even though no active, elected Democrat has ever done so. Every negotiation, arms sale, and illegal funding of terrorists has occurred at the direction of the last three Republican presidents, including the current President. And terrorism has increased during each of their administrations.

9) Obama spoke in opposition to the Congressional decision to grant Bush the power to invade Iraq, before they made the decision. A majority of the Democrats in Congress opposed that decision in their ‘No’ vote. Obama has repudiated any negotiations with Hamas, the terror group that targets Israel. He has said he would negotiate with the pipsqueak Castro who poses no threat to our country at all. He also favors speaking with other governments, even opponents, but not terror groups.

10) So the guys who’ve failed in the War on Terror, who’ve appeased and funded terrorists, who have gotten everything wrong, gotten us stuck in a drawn out disaster in Iraq claim the guy who’s been correct so far and has never advanced or supported terrorists, is dangerous. I guess when they’re headed for a decisive political loss, playing the fear card is all they’ve got.

The trouble is, that card only works on the scairdycats anymore, mostly Republicans. The majority of voters have wised up to the facts and the game Bush and McCain continue to play. Even McCain supporters in the press are calling bullshit on this fresh old game.

So who should we believe, the guys with the record of appeasement, of growing terrorism worldwide, of failing to bring any war to any successful conclusion, of supporting terrorists with money and arms? Or the guys who, like Obama, have been correct so far, in weighing the evidence and intelligence correctly, or President Clinton, who successfully weakened that pissant Saddam Hussein so well that he fell over on Day One of the new Iraq War?

The major losses suffered by US troops and US civilians at the hands of Middle East tyrants and terrorists have occurred in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and in the US, over the past 30 years. In every instance, those attacks occurred under Republican presidents, or due to Republican military and foreign policy decisions. Smaller attacks, like the USS Cole bombing and the ‘Blackhawk down’ Somalia effort paled in comparison.

Our current president sends signals and supports our troops by giving up his incompetence at golf.

And still the snake-oil peddlers continue their con. There’s only one intelligence decision that we really await: yours.

The press, the House leaders, Senate leaders have already responded with utter disgust at the President’s shameless falsehoods today.
