Mr. McCain’s Iron Curtain
It’s like 1962 all over again. A decorated war veteran … south of the US border … promoting a longer stronger Iron Curtain:
John McCain warned Mexicans that more border walls are needed before he attempts to overhaul U.S. immigration laws again, an unpopular position in a country where he had hoped to boost his standing with Hispanics.
Okay, so it’s not exactly the same, but it’s ominously close.
“I believe we must have comprehensive immigration reform; the American people want our borders secured first,” McCain said during a news conference in Mexico City.
Elsewhere, I learned he gave his press conference after touring the facilities of Mexico’s federal police. And that story came with this picture:

After seeing that, I suddenly realized why John McCain seems so threatening to me. These photos should make it clear:

For months, McCain’s supporters have tried to divert attention from the real Manchurian candidate by suggesting a guy raised mostly in Hawaii with a Harvard law degree is actually a deadly extremist follower of a dangerous Saudi nutball. But consider: McCain was born in a foreign country and - like most dictators - elevated through the ranks of a fearsome military machine, before claiming to be a reformer of our society.
And I ask, what’s so wrong with America that you feel we must reform, Comrade McCain? The flag? The Constitution? Our open borders?
To his supporters: Tear down your wall of delusion before it’s too late!

Mom? Is that you?
(Seriously, my mom has been calling McCain the Manchurian Candidate for months.)
