Obama: the commie pinko caused 4,000 troops to die in Iraq and ordered torture

That’s the next kitchen sink charge I predict the unAmerican neoconservatives will throw at Obama this week. After all, in recent days, I’ve read pundits claiming the stockmarket meltdown has been caused by the fear that Obama will be president.

In reality, market traders always ride a bear trend beyond a value-based corrective point. Perfectly valuable stocks must be driven below to permit investors to ride them back up and gain profits. The pending election of Obama has nothing to do with either the origins of the crisis nor the continuing market meltdown.

But in the waning hours of a losing campaign, it’s equally predictable what type of ludicrous charges will be hurled. Politics, after all, is about bread and circuses. Unfortunately, the GOP has remained blind to the millions now worried about bread and has steadfastly clung to its addiction of selling circuses. Long after its expiration date.

Which means they will be selling every size shape and form of container of their sole product: fear.

So Obama must be a Socialist and a Marxist, though they fail to saywhether he’s more Groucho or Harpo. He plans to “redistribute wealth” from wealthy tax avoiders to middle class taxpayers.

Unlike Republicans, who redistributed our public treasury (that had been filled by that middle class) to Saudi sheiks, Iranian ayatollahs, Iraqi millionaires, former Soviet KGB heads and profiteering political cronies like the Halliburton execs who moved their corporate headquarters to the Middle East to avoid paying US taxes. That redistribution of our wealth began in 2003. Now an equal-sized one that rewards Wall Street profiteers has raided our treasury again within the past six weeks. That effort was led by the Republican Treasury Secretary, the Republican head of the Fed, with the approval of that old Fed-head, Sir Alan Greenspan.

How is all that wealth redistribution Obama’s fault?

The two presidents who proved to be the biggest spenders of all time are Ronald Reagan (#2) and George W. Bush (#1). And the biggest tax increase ever was the increase in Social Security taxes by Reagan.

So I expect they’ll claim Obama was responsible for all those things, too.

He also made us dependent on Middle East oil.

He moved US jobs from Ohio and West Virginia to India and China.

He touted his new alliance with a foreign enemy who sponsored the Lockerbie bombing that killed Europeans and Americans.

His decisions let Osama Bin Laden and Ayman al-Zawahiri get away.

Under Obama’s watch, North Korea developed its first nuclear bombs.

More than a million Americans per year were added to the ranks without healthcare insurance while Obama resisted healthcare reform.

He also ruined FEMA, which handled the devastation of Hurricane Andrew well, and contributed to the 3,000 American deaths that were caused by Hurricane Katrina.

He and his party nominated 7 of the 9 current Supreme Court justices who have refused to overturn Roe v. Wade.

He fought against the additional benefits of the GI Bill.

And in case anyone’s forgotten, he wants to have sex with the wives and daughters of every white man in America with his unusually large penis. Because he seeks revenge for being raised in the underpaid hellhole of Hawaii and treated to a second class education at Harvard.

Need more proof? On a handful of occasions in the past quarter century, his Christian minister said some things that were as crazy as the things said by radical ministers like Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Jimmy Swaggart and Oral Roberts.

So, dude… beware!

However, the voters aren’t buying it. They have no money left for the purchase. Consider what the largest newspaper in a very Republican state had to say:

Sen. McCain describes himself as a maverick, by which he seems to mean that he spent 25 years trying unsuccessfully to persuade his own party to follow his bipartisan, centrist lead. Sadly, maverick John McCain didn’t show up for the campaign. Instead we have candidate McCain, who embraces the extreme Republican orthodoxy he once resisted and cynically asks Americans to buy for another four years.

It is Sen. Obama who truly promises fundamental change in Washington. You need look no further than the guilt-by-association lies and sound-bite distortions of the degenerating McCain campaign to see how readily he embraces the divisive, fear-mongering tactics of Karl Rove. And while Sen. McCain points to the fragile success of the troop surge in stabilizing conditions in Iraq, it is also plain that he was fundamentally wrong about the more crucial early decisions. Contrary to his assurances, we were not greeted as liberators; it was not a short, easy war; and Americans — not Iraqi oil — have had to pay for it. It was Sen. Obama who more clearly saw the danger ahead.

That was from the editorial board of The Anchorage Daily News. Though pleased that their governor, Sarah Palin, was aboard the McCain ticket, they ultimately concluded that the needs of the nation presently were well beyond her range. So even those taxpayers and voters in Republican territory, who gained a windfall tax rebate from Big Oil due to Palin’s wealth redistribution plan, think the Republican Fear Platform is too expensive a luxury after all the Gusher Up profits of the middle class - for years to come - were donated to the wealthy and privileged … and deadly … financial barons and politicians of multiple countries.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, I must be Republican. But there’s too many Americans who won’t be fooled three times in a row by the Party of Jokers who had every advantage a party could dream of, took more, and then choked. At our expense.

Or did they really choke? Or was that Gusher Up welfare paid to the Privileged Class really a series of deliberate actions? Now there’s a thought we’d better afford while we hoard the pennies left in our anorexic piggy banks.
