Didja Get Whatcha Wanted?

Well, Didja?

Mata Hari

Mata Hari ‘drew every man’s lustful admiration and every woman’s envy’

Afghan Warlords get a boner for cooperating with the CIA.  There was a time when we would send a sexy spy “over there” to subvert an enemy.  Now, we treat beautiful spies as expendable cannon fodder when they become inconvenient and hand over little blue pills to the dirty old men we want to cooperate with us.

The Afghan chieftain looked older than his 60-odd years, and his bearded face bore the creases of a man burdened with duties as tribal patriarch and husband to four younger women. His visitor, a CIA officer, saw an opportunity, and reached into his bag for a small gift.

Four blue pills. Viagra.

“Take one of these. You’ll love it,” the officer said. Compliments of Uncle Sam.

The enticement worked. The officer, who described the encounter, returned four days later to an enthusiastic reception. The grinning chief offered up a bonanza of information about Taliban movements and supply routes — followed by a request for more pills.

Now if we could only figure out how to make cancer or aids a national security issue, we’d have a cure by the end of next year.

The CIA never learns. This could give an entirely new definition to the concept of ‘blowback’.
