Thought Experiment
Wouldn’t it be interesting to see the reaction from all areas conservative if moderates and independents started showing up at teabagging events and protested the protesters?
Imagine if there were people trying to get the recalcitrant Republican’ts to recant their stand on health care. What if Michelle Bachmann’s office got deluged with angry protesters demanding to know why she constantly demonizes and distorts Democratic Party policy? If a phalanx of Franken supporters watch Al dismantle any ditto monkey that tried to pull any of that teabagging crap on him and cheered him on? And some independent media videography captured it for dissemination?
Is there a space on the internets that is keeping track of the dittoheads and the teabaggers and the rest of the reich wing? Much less one that would be actively organizing those who are tired of witnessing the poisoning of the debate, and devising a response to counter it? Not that I’m volunteering for the job – I’m into my first unenjoyment extension and barely keeping my head above water with two chances* of gainful employment before the gubmint kicks me off the dole, and this is something for a full time staff and the non-conservative alternative to lots and lots of wingnut welfare – but I think it might be a worthwhile endeavor. I wouldn’t mind being involved in a task force charged with creating such an entity, especially if said task force could provide some employment opportunities to those chronically underemployed at, say, the American Street, for example. But I wonder if there is anyone else out there who shares my desire to see an organized counter to the wave of uber-right-wing subversive disinformation that has been standard fare since the scary** non-white man became President***.
Any thoughts from the studio audience? Inquiring minds want to know…
* - slim and none.
** - most especially to the rich white males that are desperately trying to hold on to the reins of power.
*** - by (and I can’t say this enough, much less believe that it is isn’t constantly mentioned by non-conservatives everywhere) the largest majority in over twenty years.
