Design Services and Portfolio

Compelling content combined with speedy page load times, intuitive navigation and enhanced by graphics with visual impact.

That's what ReachM is known for.

We design sites that maximize accessibility and useability for your audience. With most internet users still utilizing dialup connections, our sites load quickly on 56K modems and are designed to meet current standards that make them accessible to Net-surfers with disabilities.

Kevin continually tracks useability studies and coding developments to bring a full spectrum of development possibilities to the services provided to you. Should your site require features beyond his in-house capabilities, they'll be provided via outsourcing without additional middleman charges tacked on, to a select group of web developers who meet his exacting standards of quality and customer service.

In 1998, Kevin's first design was a satire e-zine modelled after check-out counter tabloids, called The Daily Retraction. It, like a few others among his early designs, went the way of many other dotcoms of the period, disappearing into the ether. However, he's kept several of the front pages he designed and built stored for portfolio purposes. His first design company [written, inc] changed names to GoodWorx.com in 2000 and to ReachM Communications in 2001, for no discernible reason.

Past and current sites he's designed include:

American Street
His longest active group blog, covering US politics, debuted in January 2004. The overall designs and team recruitment are still done by Kevin, who's an active participant.
Wagon Tongues
We'll be adding this by February, 2006. It'll be another political blog, covering Oregon politics.
Open Source Politics
Kevin's first group blog, covering current events and US politics. He provided the original design of the logo and site and recruited the participants, though other group members created the templates, administered the site and made minor design modifications since. (Site no longer online)
ReachM High Cowboy Network Noose
His first individual blog to gain national attention, covering current events and US politics. It was launched in November 2002 and retired in December 2003 when it was succeeded by American Street, above. The server loaded this site too slow to accomodate visitors. (Site went offline in 2005).
PeacePower.com
His first personal home page; some buttons work, though the editorials are a bit outdated.
GoodWorx.com
His first business site [written, inc], evolved to this in 2000 to better represent the range of services he offerred. It's fully intact, but was changed to the current business name in 2001, simply because he preferred ReachM.
ShareMore.com
A site for stockmarket daytraders, visible but now defunct.
PACT: Parents And Children Together
An organization for families separated by marital breakups and other traumatic events. The second site Kevin built, with front page graphics and coding assistance from others. Defunct, but most buttons still function.
Nosy1.com
A simple personal website for a humorist. One button still works. It's author, Greg, passed away in 2001.
